6-Day Jebel Saghro Trek-Desert Landscapes and Berber Culture

                                                                                         Day 1: Marrakech – Tagdilt

• Depart early from Marrakech and drive across the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass toward the south. Pass through Ouarzazate and the Valley of the Roses before reaching the village of Tagdilt, located at the edge of the Jebel Saghro mountains. Meet your trekking team and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a local guesthouse.

                                                                           Day 2: Tagdilt – Almou N’Ourg

• Begin your trek from Tagdilt, walking through a desert-like landscape dotted with volcanic rock formations and dry plateaus. The trail gradually ascends as you make your way to the Almou N’Ourg plateau. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way and take in the peaceful beauty of this remote region. Overnight in a wild camp at Almou N’Ourg.

                                                                              Day 3: Almou N’Ourg – Igli

• Continue your journey across rocky ridges and open valleys, with views over the Jebel Saghro’s dramatic terrain. Trek through small passes and canyons until you reach the charming village of Igli, where you’ll spend the night in a camp or local house, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains.

                                                                                     Day 4: Igli – Bab n’Ali

• After breakfast, set off for a scenic hike toward Bab n’Ali, one of the most iconic sights in the Saghro range. These two towering volcanic rock spires rise dramatically from the desert floor, creating an unforgettable scene. Enjoy lunch near the site, and overnight in a nearby camp under the stars.

                                                                             Day 5: Bab n’Ali – Handour

• Leave Bab n’Ali and walk through valleys framed by cliffs and palm groves as you descend gradually toward the village of Handour. This area offers a mix of wild nature and cultivated oases. Spend your last night of the trek in a guesthouse, enjoying a warm meal and traditional Berber hospitality.             

                                                                            Day 6: Handour – Marrakech

• After breakfast, meet your driver and begin the return journey to Marrakech. Travel through the Draa Valley and admire its kasbahs and lush date palms before continuing over the High Atlas Mountains.
